Holds a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from PUC/RS, Graduate degree in Environmental Management in Markaryd, Sweden, MBAs in Advanced Management, Financial Management and Business Management from Fundação Dom Cabral and Fundação Getúlio Vargas, as well as IMD’s Transition to Business Leadership (TBL) Advanced Management course in Switzerland, and Innovation Excellence course at Google promoted by The Leadership Network (TLN), in New York. With 36 years of experience developed in large pulp & paper organizations, has worked for some of the main companies in the Brazilian sector (Riocell, Ripasa, Aracruz and Veracel), having participated in technical visits to roughly 30 countries throughout his career. Is also an active member of Technical and Philanthropic Associations such as ABTCP, ASPEX, ABAF, SINDPACEL and APAE (ES & RS). In 2018-2019, was President of the Executive Board of the Brazilian Pulp and Paper Technical Association (ABTCP) and is currently Vice-Coordinator of the Foreign Trade Council (COMEX) at the Federation of Industries of Bahia (FIEB).
